Indore. Sharing the joy of a festival is easy, but turning that joy into a reason for change in someone’s life is true service. With this thought, the Indore Youth Wing of Jain International Trade Organisation (JITO) joined service with celebration through ‘JITO Seva Diwali’. More than 3,000 children from orphanages in and around Indore took part. Alongside bringing smiles to their faces, steps were also taken to improve their education and future. The initiative set a new example of service, conveying a message of cooperation, sensitivity and social responsibility.

A new initiative for children’s education and skill development

A pledge to build five e-libraries and two skill development centres, a plan to help with school fees and preparations to provide children with essential educational resources make this event special. Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh and actress Genelia D’Souza also attended the programme held at Snehjeev Paradise on Kanadia Road. Cultural performances and a drone show made the event memorable, but its greatest aim was to give children opportunities to move ahead along with happiness.

Believe in yourself, recognise your talent

Citing his own life, Riteish Deshmukh said that after Class 12 he studied architecture for five years, worked in New York and also started his own firm. He then got the opportunity to work in films. Genelia Deshmukh encouraged the children to think positively, believe in themselves and accept opportunities with an open mind. She said every child has some special talent, and instead of comparing themselves with others they should recognise their strengths and focus on improving themselves.

Learn from failures, never stop trying

Sometimes a single motivating word is enough to give wings to children’s dreams. Proper guidance, self-belief and the courage to learn from failures can change the direction of a life. Interacting with the children on the theme ‘Double the light, double the joy’, Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh urged them to keep trying. Riteish said failures often teach more than success, and the regret of not trying can last a lifetime, so every opportunity should be seen as a chance to learn and prove oneself.

An initiative to inspire children through service

Giving the message ‘live and let live’, both artists said that every living being’s life is precious and that one should have kindness, respect and compassion for all. The aim of the JITO Youth Wing Indore’s ‘JITO Seva Diwali’ is to share happiness among children and also connect them with positive values of life. The interaction with personalities from the entertainment world became a memorable experience for the children. The initiative is a meaningful step towards building children’s confidence, encouraging their dreams and developing a positive outlook for the future.

Children get a chance to show their talent

At the JITO Seva Diwali programme the children showed their talent through dance, singing and acting. Their enthusiasm and confidence on stage became the highlight of the event. The JITO Youth Wing tried to give the children an atmosphere where they could freely display their art and feel special. The presence of Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh and actress Genelia D’Souza made the day even more memorable for them, while a spectacular drone show added sparkle to the celebration. Along with entertainment, the programme laid emphasis on giving the children encouragement and a sense of belonging.

Not one day’s joy, but an effort to change the future

Prakhar Mehta, Chairman of JITO Youth Wing, Indore, said the focus of this initiative is not limited to giving children festival joy. “Keeping in mind children’s education, needs and skill development, our organisation has resolved to arrange facilities that will serve them for a long time. The plan to build five e-libraries and two skill development centres is a step in this direction. Through e-libraries we aim to provide children digital resources for studying, and through skill development centres to give them opportunities to learn new skills. We also plan to provide monitors, desks and other educational facilities as needed. The initiative to help with the school fees of more than 3,000 children is also part of this service campaign. The aim of these efforts is to reduce the difficulties in children’s studies and give them better opportunities to fulfil their dreams.”
